Posted on GoogleTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I chose Jean-Michel of Lofts4u Ltd to fully renovate my London flat in May 2025. It was a carefully deliberated decision at the time as the flat needed full, top-down renovation and had fundamental structural issues. It was clear that Jean-Michel and his team (boiler engineer, electrician etc.) had both longstanding and extensive experience with all types of renovations. Additionally, Jean-Michel had a subtle aesthetic sense that would prove to be instrumental. He helped me make critical decisions on maximization of the space which was aligned with my minimalist Scandinavian design preference. Due to the space limitations, he came up with incredibly clever ideas for custom built-in closets and cupboards in oddly angled crevices that seemed initially impossible to use. The end result is that I now have an incredibly beautiful oak bookshelf seamlessly integrated alongside a column of shelves to house the internet router and hide the cords. I also have an elegant oak unit in the tiny entrance hallway that can store shoes. Jean-Michel also masterfully created a gorgeous oak vanity unit in the bathroom underneath the sink that provides a lot of storage. He built a custom wardrobe, a door with a lock for a second closet, installed double glazed windows, beautiful Herringbone solid wood flooring throughout the flat, a brand-new bathroom with tiles, fitted kitchen cupboards, and installed an integrated washing machine and refrigerator. He also had the brilliant idea for a feature wall with stylish recesses and subtle interior lighting, which lends a truly elegant touch to the overall aesthetic of the flat. My guests are consistently awed by this wall (along with the overall stunning ambience) when they come to visit. Jean-Michel also rewired the electricity with dimmable ceiling lights and installed new outlets throughout the flat. A significant portion of the roof of the house was in dire condition and on the brink of failing, and Jean-Michel essentially rebuilt that portion of the roof from scratch. During the initial period of renovation, he also discovered loose brickwork in need of urgent repair, which he handled. Jean-Michel’s is a boutique style that is truly unique. The other builders I had interviewed clearly had a single specialization or carried out standard renovations. By contrast, Jean-Michel was an active participant throughout the entire process and helped me think through and resolve difficult design and structural challenges. Moreover, he is a lovely person with a calm demeanor which made the whole renovation process truly enjoyable. Victorian mansion block flat renovation rescue - If there was a 6th star then I'd be giving Jean Michel & team that as a rating! I cannot recommend Jean Michel and the Lofts4U team highly enough. Jean Michel was willing to take on the risk & uncertainty of a half finished flat renovation within my Victorian mansion block flat that had been abandoned by another unscrupulous builder. Jean Michel identified numerous serious faults that the previous builder had missed or deliberately concealed. Had these not been caught and fixed, they would undoubtedly have caused me huge & costly problems down the line. His level of care, attention and diligence was remarkable – he treated my project as if it were his own. Jean Michel's team of plumbers & electricians were highly professional, highly expert, highly reliable, and genuinely friendly throughout. What struck me most was his exceptional attention to detail & dedication for excellence. I'm now living in a beautiful and exceptionally high quality flat thanks to his willingness, help and expertise which I'm incredibly grateful for.
